This was such a fun piece! An old friend from Jr. high commissioned me to paint her 4 girls having tea. I loved re-connecting with her and learning the personalities of her girls.
Hazel is the oldest, the bear cub. She is capable and careful, taking care of her sisters by serving tea, her creative mind organized this event! Piper, the kitty, smiles with her eyes and has incredible attentiveness. She plays with her little sisters constantly and has a huge heart. Haverlee, the red squirrel, is mischievously sweet! Who's scone is stuffed in her cheeks anyway? Perhaps the proper 'pinkies up' will divert attention. She is also giving a violet a drink of her tea. Pennley, the bunny, is the youngest. She is constantly watching her big sisters and learning. Piper is teaching her 'pinkies up!'
The mouse and the bird represent a little girl and little boy who were miscarried. It was such an honor to put all 6 siblings together in a picture for the first time. This was the sweetest commission!
